A group of teens enjoy vandalizing and harassing people all the while recording their exploits. They are offered money to break into an old house and steal a VHS tape. Inside the place, they find hundreds of them. One of the kids sits down to watch tape after tape, he sees stories about an encounter with a very strange woman, a honeymoon gone wrong, a bizarre killer in the woods,  a video chat between two people with a growing menace, and a truly haunted house. Between each segment the young criminals become aware that something is lurking in the house.

V/H/S kicked off a whole wave of anthology films. I really enjoy anthology horror films, especially the Amicus ones, and I am happy to see they are back. Not only do they give a you chance to see new directors, the variety means that if a particular segment isn’t doing it for you, there will be a new one in just a few minutes. Like any anthology, each story varies in quality, but I think they are all very enjoyable here. The grainy glitchy VHS aesthetic is on the verge of being overused lately, but it still feels fresh here, and I think it greatly adds some much needed atmosphere to the wraparound story. V/H/S is fun and filled with energy and some legitimately frightening moments.
